Ingredients:
For the Cookies:
- 1/2 cup (113g) Unsalted Butter at room temperature
- 1/2 cup (100g) Granulated Sugar
- 2 Tbsp Orange Zest
- 2 Tbsp (30ml) Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice (1 or 2 Tbsp more, if necessary)
- 1 1/2 cups (180g) All-Purpose Flour
- 1 tsp (4g) Baking Powder
- A pinch of salt
For the Orange Glaze:
- 1/3 cup (45g) Powdered Sugar
- About 2 tsp (10ml) Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice

For the Cookies:
- In a large bowl, place the butter, sugar, and orange zest. Stir with a spatula until creamy and smooth.
- Add the orange juice and stir to combine.
- Add the flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir until it forms a dough. If the mixture is too dry, you can add 1 or 2 tablespoons of orange juice and stir until it forms a soft and creamy dough.
- Refrigerate for about 20 minutes. Portion the dough using a one tablespoon scoop and roll the dough into balls using the palms of your hands.
- Place them in a large baking sheet lined with parchment paper, about 2in (5cm) apart from each other.
- Bake at 350°F (180°C) for 12-15 minutes or until the cookies are lightly brown on the bottom. The cookies will come out of the oven quite soft, but that is normal. They will firm up as they cool, so make sure to wait a few minutes to remove them from the baking sheet.
- Let them cool completely before adding the glaze.
For the Orange Glaze:
- In a medium bowl, place the powdered sugar. Add the orange juice a bit at a time, stirring after each addition until it forms a thick glaze. You can add a bit more if necessary.
- Using a small piping bag, drizzle the glaze over the cookies.
- Wait about 20-30 minutes until the glaze is completely firm and serve.
- You can store these cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
