Ingredients
For the Cake:
- 1 cup (125g) All-purpose flour
- 2 tsp (8g) Baking powder
- A pinch of salt
- 2 Tbsp (24g) Granulated sugar
- 2/3 cup (160g) Milk at room temperature
- 3 Tbsp (40g) Vegetable oil (any flavorless vegetable oil like canola, corn, or sunflower)
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla (opcional)
- 1/2 cup (150g) Nutella at room temperature
- 1/3 cup (55g) Chocolate chips
For the Frosting:
- About 2/3 cup (200g) Nutella
Instructions
For the Cake:
- Line a muffin tin with 10-11 paper liners. Set it aside.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) for about 5 minutes before baking the cupcakes.
- Sift the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar into a large bowl. Whisk to combine the dry ingredients.
- Add the milk and vegetable oil. Whisk gently until just combined. You can add 1/2 tsp of vanilla.
- Stir in the Nutella until smooth, then add the chocolate chips. Don’t overmix the batter.
- Fill the cupcake liners about 2/3 full.
- Bake for about 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center come out with a few moist crumbs.
- Let them cool for about 10 minutes, and transfer the cupcakes to a cooling rack.
- These cupcakes are very soft and delicate, so I suggest you refrigerate them for about 1 hour before adding the frosting.
For the Frosting:
- Place about 1 tablespoon of Nutella on top of each cupcake and spread with a small spatula.
