- 5oz (140g or about 1 cup) Semi-Sweet Chocolate, chopped
- 1/4 cup (55g) Unsalted Butter at room temperature
- 1 Egg at room temperature
- 1/4 cup (25g) Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- 1/2 cup (90g) Lightly Packed Brown Sugar
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 3/4 cup (95g) All-Purpose Flour
- 1 tsp (4g) Baking Powder
- A pinch of Salt
- 1/2 cup (60g) Powdered Sugar for coating

- In a large microwave-safe bowl, place the chopped chocolate. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each until completely melted. Let it cool for a few minutes at room temperature.
- Cut the butter (at room temperature) into pieces and add it to the melted chocolate. Stir until smooth.
- Add the egg, cocoa powder, brown sugar, and vanilla. Stir until well combined.
- Add the flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir until it forms a dough that resembles a very thick brownie batter.
- Refrigerate for about 30-40 minutes or until firm enough to roll into balls.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
- Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Using the palm of your hands, roll the dough into 1-1/2 inch (3,8cm) balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet, about 3 inches apart from each other.
- Bake for about 10 -15 minutes.
- Let the cookies cool and set completely before removing them from the baking sheet.
- Coat them with powdered sugar. Store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
