Ingredients:
For the cake:
- 1/2 cup (45g) Unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup (120g) Hot milk
- 3 large eggs at room temperature
- 1 1/4 cups (250g) Granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup (120g) Plain yogurt at room temperature
- 1 tsp (5g) Vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup (90g) All-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp (1g) Salt
For the Chocolate Ganache Topping:
- 115g (about 3/4 cup) Semi-sweet chocolate, chopped or chips
- 80g (1/3 cup) Heavy cream (bring to room temperature)

For the cake:
- Line an 8in (20cm) square pan with parchment paper. Set it aside.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) for about 5 minutes before baking the cake.
- Combine the cocoa powder and hot milk in a medium bowl. Whisk until well combined and let it cool at room temperature for a few minutes.
- Place the eggs and sugar in the bowl of an electric mixer. Beat on medium speed for about 5 minutes until light and fluffy.
- Add the yogurt, cocoa mixture, and vanilla. Whisk until well combined.
- Sift the flour and salt over the mixture and whisk gently until just combined.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and bake for about 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Let it cool completely at room temperature and unmold the cake.
For the Chocolate Ganache Topping:
- Place the chocolate and heavy cream in a medium bowl. Melt using a double boiler or microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval until smooth.
- Let the ganache cool at room temperature for a few minutes and spread it over the cake.
- Sprinkle chocolate shavings on top and serve.
If not consumed on the same day, keep the cake refrigerated and remove it from the fridge about 30 minutes before serving.
